The right watch may inspire you to new heights each time you take a look at your wrist, and that is just what a new watch brand called Gusard is about using their first-ever series of timepieces. Launching today via Kickstarter, the series is comprised of two models: the Coach and the Mentor, both engraved with empowering messages from inspirational icons of yesteryear. Gusard’s aim? To spread their fire, not only for watches but for life, and also to inspire their timepieces’ wearers to grow and learn and chase their dreams. In other words, to coach and, well, mentor.
To create the series, the Parisian microbrand collaborated with famous designer Damien Fourgeaud, whose former expertise includes working together with high-end brands Dior, Christian Lacroix and Fendi. The aesthetics behind both versions, the chronograph Coach and minimalist Mentor, are inspired by the geometry of the City of Lights’ most renowned landmark, the Eiffel Tower.
Collectively, you will find 10 distinct models in total, 4 in the Coach 6 and series at the Mentor series. The design is unisex, with an assortment of color choices to choose from.
The dials on both timepieces are clean and crisp, exuding elegance during the diamond-cut indicators and anti-scratch sapphire crystal. Within beats the Ronda Quartz, a trusted Swiss movement. Every watch is paired with a high quality, handcrafted, full-grain Italian leather strap, that can be made to be easily interchangeable, letting you pick from black, white, beige, navy, green, white, gray or a striking blue. (There is also the option of a Milanese mesh strap made of 316L stainless steel should you prefer, available in rose gold, black or silver.)
But it’s what is on the caseback that sets this brand new Gusard series aside; each watch features an engraved quote made to empower the wearer through encouraging words taken from a number of the most inspiring historical icons of the time. This way, even a passing glance at the time may provide a reminder to keep chasing your dreams, or invite you to pause and reflect a bit of timeless wisdom.
