Regardless of the product, there are pretty much two categories of Kickstarter campaign: the low frills, nothing-but-the-details sort; and the slick, well-produced campaign that communicates the details with a bit of flair. Fin Watches out of Toronto falls into the latter group. Their Kickstarter introduction video is quirky and slick, and the campaign text follows a similar pattern. All that to say, Fin does a good job of capturing your attention while they introduce their first watch, the Spire.

The dial of the Spire also features a pulsometer index. Fin calls it an “old-timey tribute” to doctor’s watches where this function was more common (their campaign breaks down how it works). You’re likely never going to use it, but it’s a fun addition and aesthetically it does fit in with the overall look of the watch, which leans very much toward the vintage side of things.
The case of the Spire measures 41mm in diameter and features wire-style lugs. They’re not fixed—they take a spring bar—but they give the appearance of being fixed. The case is available in a brushed or polished finish, and in rose gold and matte black. A variety of strap colors is also available to complement the watch.
The Kickstarter campaign is currently ongoing, with a starting price of about $169 per unit. The campaign will run through Thursday, June 29th, 2017.
