Reviewing The Meister Driver Chronoscope From Junghans

The new Meister Driver Chronoscope from Junghans incorporates design elements of classic cars of the past.

The movement of choice is the J880.4 self-winding movement featuring a Dubois Depraz 2030 module built on a 4 Hz (28,800 vph) ETA 2892 basic calibre.

The Meister Driver Chronoscope can be matched to a stainless steel bracelet or a leather strap featuring the perforation typical of car seats.

The classic car flair is underscored by colour-contrast zones and two totalisers in bicompax arrangement (continuous seconds at 3 o’clock and 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock), set into the dial in the bowl-shaped form typical of the Meister range.

The dial resembles a speedometer with large minute and hour markers which contribute to the distinctive character of the timepiece together with the nostalgically-styled minute-track.

Water resistant to 3 bar (30 metres / 99 feet), the 40.8 mm x 12.6 mm stainless steel case features a domed hard plexiglass with Sicralan coating, a treatment which improves the scratch proof properties of the surfaces.
