Learning how to change a watch band is a cost effective way to change your accessories without spending a lot of money.

Many watches are designed to allow for removal of the watch band they come with. This feature allows you to change watch bands to match your outfit. It also allows you to change the original watch band when it becomes overly weathered and loose on your wrist. You can learn the proper method for watch band removal and the proper techniques for watch band replacement by following a few helpful tips and by using the proper tools.
1.Fold the soft cloth a few times, so it provides a good cushion for the face of the watch. Place the soft cloth on a flat surface, such as a table or counter top.
2.Place the watch face down onto the soft cloth. Pick up the spring bar tool and place it on 1 of the ends where the strap attaches to the watch. Underneath the strap will be spring bars-which attach the strap to the watch.
3.Press down on the spring bar tool and pull it slightly inwards towards the center of the strap. This will loosen and detach the spring bar from the strap.

4.Place the spring bar to the side. Follow the same steps to remove the strap on the opposite side of the watch.
5.Grab the new watch band. Pick up one of the new spring bars and place it inside the small strap on 1 side of the watch band. Depending on the tightness of the strap, you may need to push it in slowly until the strap opens wide enough to allow the spring bar inside. You can use the prongs on your spring bar tool to push it gently inside the strap when the strap is too tight.
6.Adjust the spring bar so that both sides of the spring bar pop up and out of the strap. To ensure proper placement of the spring bar, you can use your fingers to move the spring bar up or down. You can also use the spring bar tool to move the spring bar into place.
7.Pick up the second spring bar. Place it into the other strap on the opposite side of the watch strap.
8.Position the first watch strap face down to match the position of the watch. This prevents you from attaching the watch band the wrong way.
9.Turn the watch from the face down position to the face up position to ensure proper placement of the watch band. Make sure you are connecting the correct strap with the correct side of the watch. Place the shorter watch band on the side of the watch that reads 12 o’clock.
10.Turn the watch back over to the face down position again. Take the short strap and place it in between the notches to insert the spring bar.

11.Use the spring bar tool. Push the spring bar tool back to guide the spring bar gently into the notch on the back of the watch. Wait until you hear a clicking sound. The clicking sound lets you know when you properly attach the spring bar inside the notch. Once it is in place, hold the watch and the other side of the strap steady to put the other end of the spring bar into position.

12.Grab the other section of the watch band and place the correct end into the notch on the watch. Pick up the spring tool bar and pull the spring bar on the opposite end of the strap back towards the center of the watch band. Guide the spring bar into the notch. Wait until you hear a clicking sound.

13.Tug on each watch strap to ensure that the watch strap is secure. Use the soft cloth to clean the surface of the watch.
